March 2021, I can see the buds on the Elder Berry and It always makes me smile. We round the corner on one year of Covid 19, masks, and dining in. It wasn’t too hard for me and I feel truly lucky to work from home on music and mosaics. The shops are starting to open gradually and this is what this post is about. I have taken a group of mosaics to Gather, the fine shop in Vashon’s town center that carries art by many Vashon artists.
They have limited hours so please check their website or their Facebook page for the latest. Click HERE.
I was asked to fill in for someone who had to cancel their participation in the Vashon Summer Arts Fest. This revolving art show features wonderful Vashon artists filling the Koch Gallery, and the main lobby in the Vashon Center for the Arts building on Vashon Highway and Cemetery Rd. Safe Covid protocols in place.
Please visit my work in this show from Aug 7th - Aug 22nd. I will have a variety of smaller mosaics (pet bowls, vases, ukuleles, etc) with the exception of my Frog Prince, who wasn’t about to be left out.

When Pete and I started working on this song it was 2019. We were so excited when we finished it and had no idea how long it would be before we recorded it, due to Pete’s chronic fatigue. When the corona virus hit, we thought, these words really speak to the situation we collectively find ourselves in. Pete had recorded a late night demo of himself singing the song, it had great spirit. We decided to add my vocal and send it out into the world. MORE>

When the Posies play gigs, they ask local female singers to come up on a couple of songs in their set. I was the “girl singer” when they played Vashon on Jan 29th, 2019. It was a good way for me to get out of my comfort zone and do some singing. I didn’t grow up listening to them, but they were a lot of fun and very entertaining.

I haven’t been singing out much in the last couple of years so it was fun for me to do this show. My Pal Debra Heesch as been asking me to do the Patsy Cline Tribute show for years and she finally convinced me to do it. It was a pleasure working with all the lovely ladies and gentlemen. More singing, I hope so. Use it or lose it.

Pete and I were very excited to play our first show in 10 years at the new Vashon Center for the Arts AKA Katherine L. White Hall. To make it even sweeter, it sold out. Truly a warm and fuzzy night!
Pete and I performed a couple of our songs from the Droge & Summers’ Blend EP on the show ArtZone with Nancy Guppy. Here is our song “Island”.
I recently worked with Pete on a score for Showtime’s “Miles to Go Before I Sleep” for director Sam Jones. The short documentary is a companion piece to Cameron Crowe’s new series, Roadies.
