This project was a total dive into something I rarely do, make my own tiles and incorporate mosaic using vintage tiles from the 20’s. The center piece and the edge pieces were all I started with. The edge tiles needed to be cut quite a bit to make them fit perfectly, a nerve-racking task that I called in an expert to help with, my friend Nadine Edelstein. She helped me figure out the best way to execute my design and all it’s parts. The base was custom made by Jim Honold of Whidbey Island. The vintage tiles are from Wells Antiques in Los Angeles. This project took about 3 months to complete.
